Yosemite “Fire Waterfall” – Extremely Rare Photos

This park was gazetted as a national park in 1890.
It is world famous for its rugged terrain, waterfall
and century-old pine trees. It covers 1200 sq km
and the “fire” waterfall of El Capitan is one of the
most spectacular of all scenery.

The spectacular view of the waterfall is created
by the reflection of sunlight hitting the falling
water at a specific angle. This rare sight can only
be seen at a 2-week period towards the end of
February.

To photograph this rare event,
photographers would often have to wait and
endure years of patience in order to capture
them. The reason is because its appearance
depends on a few natural phenomena occurring
at the same time…and some good luck.

First is the formation of the waterfall – The
water is formed by the melting of snow and
ice at the top of the mountain. It melts between
the month of December and January and by the
end of February there might not have much
snow left to melt.

Second is the specific angle of the sunray
hitting the falling water. The sun’s position
must be exactly at a particular spot in the sky.
This occurs only in the month of February and
at the short hours of dusk. If it is a day full of
clouds or something blocking the sun, you can
only take pictures of your own sorry faces on
the waterfall.

It coincides with the fact that the
weather in the National Park at that time of the
year is often volatile and unpredictable. It
compounds to the difficulty of getting these
pictures.

Someone did, and we all get to see it !!!”

By Dr. Tom Termotto

These are the realities on the ground (undersea floor), in the water (Gulf of Mexico & Seven Seas), and in the air (atmosphere) in the wake of the Oil & Gas Industry operations around the globe, as it has operated for well over 100 years. For illustration purposes let’s just focus on the Northern Gulf Coast of Mexico, since that is where Mother Earth has directed our collective attention. We can do this quickly by consulting the following map of the oil and gas platforms that were in operation throughout the Gulf of Mexico in 2006.

Please be aware that oil and gas exploration, drilling and extraction have been conducted for many decades in the Gulf. Therefore we know that there are countless interstitial spaces which have been emptied of their hydrocarbons in the form of both oil and methane. We also know that, when deeper repositories have been emptied very quickly, there is a shock of sorts to the system, or geological formations that exist around and contiguous to these prospects. One can easily imagine how the entire balance of this undersea ecosystem and sub-seafloor geology can be irrevocably affected by the relentless intrusions and profoundly invasive techniques utilized by this industry.

Let’s now contextualize this state of affairs by fast-forwarding to 2012. As Mother Earth rocks and rolls in preparation for her rejuvenation, we are all witnessing huge and unprecedented changes to her beautiful form. For instance we know there has been a dramatic uptick in the number of earthquakes and volcanoes, both on land and undersea around the world. We know that global climate change has been occurring for decades and has manifested in some places as global warming, others as global cooling, and still others as global deluges and global droughts, etc. Regardless of where you domicile, we can all agree that things are a changin’. And very fast, due to the various accelerations and compression of time which occur during the final phase of the galactic creation cycle according to Mayan calendrics and cosmogony.

What else is happening? The Schumann resonance is on the way from 7.8 to 14.3 according to some of the experts. The magnetics of the Earth, Herself, are decreasing rapidly and perhaps on the way to zero as a prelude to a magnetic pole shift, or even to a mono-polar planet. Whole species are vacating the planet as we write. But most important is what is about to happen within and around the center of our solar system – our glorious sun some know as SOL or Lord Surya. We will also discuss His current alignment with the Great Central Sun or Galactic Center of the Milky Way in a future essay because of its epochal consequences to all things on planet Earth.

We are coming out of a solar phase known as the solar minimum, and shortly on the way to a solar maximum phase. Many have predicted that the most active and dramatic solar maximum phase of the era will occur during the years around 2012. This will manifest as a significant increase in the number of solar flares, coronal mass ejections, sunspots, as well as considerable intensification of solar wind activity. The magnetics of the sun will also be profoundly affected. All of these colossal changes, will have HUGE impacts on planet Earth, and especially the space bound technologies that exist in the form of a substantial number of satellites.

What’s all this got to do with the state of the oil and gas industry? Much of what we just described will have a large effect on the greenhouse gas composition of the earth’s atmosphere, as does all human, animal, plant, mineral and weather activity. All of these preordained changes will especially determine how the “mix” of GHG’s is processed by GAIA. She’s already shakin’ and bakin’ majorly, and therefore Her skin (crust) will experience an ongoing transformation of truly epic proportions.

To the point, when you mix innumerable geological fractures under the seafloor due to oil and gas drilling – where the fluids and dynamics have been radically altered with no compensatory follow-up measures – with undersea earthquakes and volcanoes, which all the scientific data says is ramping up, what do you come up with?! Potentially massive displacement of water, which can translate to tsunamis or tidal waves, whichever you prefer.

And we haven’t even gotten to the methane gas ignition possibilities or methane hydrate issues (see “pulling the methane clathrate” below). You see, there are huge and innumerable pockets of methane trapped within the earth’s crust, and especially on and below the seafloor of the oceans of the world. These methane repositories and reservoirs can be ignited in various and sundry ways. Sometimes it is an earthquake; sometimes the trigger is a volcano or a meteor or an oil drilling operation gone awry. Going back eons, some have postulated that it may very well have been an asteroid that triggered a chain reaction of methane ignitions, which so transformed the surface of the earth that the dinosaurs became extinct virtually “overnight”.

http://aphriza.wordpress.com/2006/07/31/pulling-the-clathrate-trigger/

The critical issue in our current scenario is that greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) have seen a dramatic rise with human activity (What else could be expected with almost 7 billion people driving and flying and rocketing everywhere?) Historically, and by this we mean deep archaeological records, indicate that when a certain critical mass of GHG emissions is reached in their many multifarious manifestations, things start to pop. Even the mainstream media has advanced that an ignited methane burp gave rise to the explosion, and subsequent fire, that sunk the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf.

Now lets add to this mix, the current BP practice of burning massive amounts of oil brought up to the surface of the Gulf by their oil plume aggregators (these are the same oil plumes, the existence of which BP denies). Do we know yet how to spell greenhouse gas emissions?! Yes, we had a very serious problem with the uncontrolled oil volcano, but it has multiplied its adverse effects on the entire environment with the wanton and cavalier burning of this spilled oil.

Let’s get back to the seafloor. Because the integrity of the seafloor has been, and is now being, profoundly undermined by the leaks and seeps, fissures and cracks which appeared in the wake of a multi-week out of control oil gusher, we have an additional concern. With a piercing of the well casing, extremely hot oil interacts with the seafloor in many unknown ways, which then contributes to upsetting the foundation into which this well was drilled. This ongoing leakage of hydrocarbon effluent will also serve to melt and vaporize the methane hydrates, which are normally frozen in place under extraordinarily high pressure and low temperature, that are found all over the seafloor especially in the Mississippi Canyon area off the northern Gulf Coast of Mexico.

Furthermore, geohazards specialists and geophysics experts have spoken directly to a phenomenon that is currently taking place within the general vicinity of the Macondo Prospect well. As with any well gone bad, and there are perhaps thousands of them throughout the world, the hydrocarbon effluent is usually under great pressure. Wherever the integrity of the well bore or well head has been compromised, and even in cases where the cementing has been properly performed, the hydrocarbon brew will always find weaknesses (e.g. faults) and points of egress through the geological strata all the way to exit points in the surface of the seafloor. As this hot petroleum brew moves through geological strata that possess pockets of methane hydrates/clathrates, they are vaporized. The resulting methane gas will eventually find itself entering the body of water above, and either dissolving in the sea water or traveling through the water columns and rising above the water surface into the atmosphere, thereby contributing massive emissions to the planetary GHG burden.

What is important to understand is that this massive ongoing release of methane gas, as well as the inevitable changes to the sub-seafloor geological structure, is a contributing dynamic to unprecedented tectonic movements around the planet. Mother Earth does seem to be readying Herself for some major transformations which will affect coastlines throughout the world. As new islands emerge through volcanic activity and uprisings of land masses occur due to seismic activity within the oceans, we can only expect that our continued practices from the past will serve to exacerbate this period of extraordinary geological upheaval.

What most do not know is that the general circumstances surrounding the Macondo Prospect oil volcano are not too unlike many other wells gone bad throughout the Gulf, as well as at undersea drilling sites all over the world. Even though the well is now apparently sealed, there are still serious problems that have been carefully hidden from view by BP. In fact, by drilling so deep through the earth’s crust, a process has been initiated that cannot be stopped by technological means. As this process advances, there does exist the potential for a seafloor collapse, which will immediately cause one of three outcomes. (i) The previously existing oil volcano could become a super-volcano. (ii) The resulting debris field could be Mother Earth’s way of sealing off the well permanently. (iii) The last possibility represents an infinite number of permutations which will confront us with a still spilling oil well – big or large depends on many factors.

If there is a quite unfortunate confluence of circumstances, we could see a much larger domino effect of other empty caverns, which have not filled in with abiotic hydrocarbons, collapsing and giving rising to a much larger displacement of water, as well as methane ignitions which would perpetuate this domino effect until it naturally expended itself. Along with this “worst case scenario”, go all the other consequences, which have been existent throughout the entire history of corporate oil and gas operations/activity, except that the Oil & Gas Industry has been very, very lucky. We think the luck has now run out.

In the final analysis, reasonable and enlightened people will simply come to the understanding that this whole practice of sucking Mother Earth’s lifeblood is not only unsustainable and destructive to the planet, but also insane, as in crazy. HELLO! WE OUGHT NOT TO BE DOING THIS ANYMORE. Not in our beloved Gulf. Not in Alaska. Not anywhere on this beautiful orb known as GAIA – our Dear Mother Earth.

And we haven’t even mentioned the practice of hydrofracking!

Citizens in Tallahassee, FL ask some serious questions

by Dr. Tom Termotto

There’s a continuing saga in Tallahassee, FL that has gone on for many years, which is representative of similar sagas that are taking place across America. It all revolves around the water – specifically the water that is filtered and treated by municipal water quality divisions in every city and county throughout the nation.

A Tale of Two Separate and Independent Inquiries:

Unknown to each other for many years, two healthcare professionals in Tallahassee, FL began their independent research around the quality of Tallahassee drinking water. Dr. Tom Termotto, an Integrative Health Consultant and author of this article, chose to focus on the unintended consequences, toxic side effects and collateral damage caused by two standard operating procedures long in place at the municipal water quality division in Tallahassee, FL. Dr. Ron Saff focused on the myriad chemicals, contaminants and toxins that find their way into the water by various means and from a multitude of sources. Quite fortuitously for the citizens of Tallahassee, their paths crossed when they were both opposing the siting of a biomass incinerator last year in Gretna, FL.

Both of these longstanding environmental health advocates knew that there was something very wrong with the water in Tallahassee, yet realized that there were so many vectors of groundwater contamination it could take years to accurately identify both the sources and the numerous chemical contaminants. Hence, a collaboration was formed which has taken this citizens’ initiative all the way to the Mayor’s office and beyond. Just this month Mayor John Marks announced his intention to form of a Citizens’ Task Force, which will be appointed to further study and act upon the many negative aspects of Tallahassee drinking water. Some of these issues have been found to be so problematic that they have, and will continue to translate to, a whole host of serious health issues and medical conditions within the local drinking and bathing population.

Where Dr. Saff has set his gaze upon the list of chemicals which the US Environmental Protection Agency and FL Department of Environmental Protection have identified as carcinogenic, toxic to the human body and especially deleterious to infants, young children, pregnant mothers and their fetuses, Dr. Tom has focused on the water treatment processes that are further contributing to the problems and, in some cases, making a simple problem exponentially worse due to profound interactions causing unintended consequences.

Just what water treatment processes are we talking about?

One of the major components and preferred method of water treatment throughout the USA has been the standard chlorination procedure, which has been in use for many decades. It was first utilized over 100 years ago, and since WWII has been the primary disinfection treatment by virtually every municipal water district in the land. What’s inherently defective about this method of disinfecting water? And, that is its only purpose – disinfection.

“Disinfection by chlorination can be problematic, in some circumstances. Chlorine can react with naturally occurring organic compounds found in the water supply to produce dangerous compounds, known as disinfection byproducts (DBPs). The most common DBPs are trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs). Due to the carcinogenic potential of these compounds, federal regulations in the United States of America require regular monitoring of the concentration of these compounds in the distribution systems of municipal water systems.” (Per Wikipedia)

Just in case you didn’t understand this, here’s another phrasing from the water experts at Doulton/H2O International Inc. in Ontario, CA.

“What concerns health officials are the chlorination by-products, “chlorinated hydrocarbons,”known as trihalomethanes (THM’s). Most THM’s are formed in drinking water when chlorine reacts with naturally occurring substances such as decomposing plant and animal materials. Risks for certain types of cancer are now being correlated to the use of chlorinated drinking water. Suspected carcinogens make the human body more vulnerable through repeated ingestion and research indicates the incidents of cancer are 44% higher among those using chlorinated water.”(Per: Chlorine – A Special Problem for Drinking Water @ http://www.doulton.ca/chlorine.html)

That’s twice now that you have read that the very process that is designed to treat our municipal water also has the unintended consequence of polluting it – with a carcinogen. We encourage all readers of this article to further research this matter so that, by becoming well acquainted with a fairly unknown issue, they can provide their local water authorities with this critical information.

What other toxic side effects does chlorination produce? Did you know that there is a direct correlation between chlorine and depression? Repeated exposure to chlorine, in both its liquid and gaseous form, can greatly contribute to physically induced chronic depression. How de we know this? Many allopathic and alternative healthcare practitioners have recommended to their clients to stop drinking the tap water and begin drinking distilled or activated carbon filtered water, which are both free of chlorine. Much anecdotal evidence and clinical observation has revealed that, in many cases, the months or years of depression go away very quickly, never to return again, when such depression is in fact due to chronic exposure to chlorinated water. This phenomenon is even more dramatic when the often-female client installs a whole house de-chlorination system in her garage and eliminates her exposure to the previously chlorinated bath water.

What other water treatment processes are we talking about?

All of us have heard the question, “What are they drinking?” This question is alternatively posited as “They’re drinking the water, aren’t they?” Phrased another way: “They must be drinking the Kool-Aid in Tallahassee!”

Nothing – and we mean nothing – turns water into kool-aid quicker than the fluoridation of a city’s water supply. Hydrofluorosilisic acid (aka fluoride) simply has no place in any water supply. “This form of fluoride chemical added to water is an industrial by-product from the phosphate fertilizer industry. Unlike the fluoride used in toothpaste, hydrofluorosilicic acid is not pharmaceutical-grade quality. It is an unpurified, industrial-grade, corrosive acid which has been linked, in several recent studies, to increased levels of lead in children’s blood.” (Per FAN) This is the liquid form it usually takes when it is introduced by water districts all over the country. Here in Tallahassee, it is no different. So, just what are the real health and medical issues surrounding this mysterious and generally misunderstood chemical known as fluoride, as well as the process known as fluoridation? And why is the City of Tallahassee allowed to deliberately contaminate its water supply with a known toxin?!

Fluoride Action Network Speaks Out:

Let’s begin by stating some facts about fluoride ingestion and exposure when the aggregate amount from all sources is considered, especially including the tap water as the primary source. All of the following quotes come from the Fluoride Action Network (FAN), an organization staffed by MD’s, PhD’s, scientists, medical researchers and health investigators from across a broad of range of disciplines and specialties. Much of their cross-referenced research has been peer-reviewed and published in the most authoritative journals and professional publications.

(1) Fluoride & Dental Fluorosis – “Excessive ingestion of fluoride during the early childhood years may damage the tooth-forming cells, leading to a defect in the enamel known as dental fluorosis.” Relevant scientific research provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) can be found at the following link.

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/teeth/fluorosis/

(2) Fluoride & Allergy/Hypersensitivity – “Symptoms of allergic/hypersensitive reactions have been reported to include: skin rashes (e.g. dermatitis, urticaria, eczema); mouth lesions (canker sores); gastric distress; headache; joint pain; weakness; visual disturbances; and lethargy.” (Per Physician’s Desk Reference) The site below also links to research published in the Journal of Dental Medicine.

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/allergy/index.html

(3) Fluoride & the Kidneys – “The kidneys play a vital role in preventing the build-up of excessive fluoride in the body. Among healthy individuals, the kidneys excrete approximately 50% of the daily fluoride intake. However, among individuals with kidney disease, the kidneys’ ability to excrete becomes markedly impaired, resulting in a build-up of fluoride within the body.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/kidney/index.html

(4) Fluoride & the Brain – “Concern about fluoride’s impact on the brain has been fueled by 18 human studies (from China, Mexico, India, and Iran) reporting IQ deficits among children exposed to excess fluoride, by 4 human studies indicating that fluoride can enter, and damage, the fetal brain; and by a growing number of animal studies finding damage to brain tissue (at levels as low as 1 ppm) and impairment of learning and memory among fluoride-treated groups.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/brain/index.html

(5) Fluoride & the Thyroid Gland – “Today, many people living in fluoridated communities are ingesting doses of fluoride (1.6-6.6 mg/day) that fall within the range of doses (2 to 10 mg/day) once used by doctors to reduce thyroid activity in hyperthyroid patients. This is of particular concern considering the widespread problem of hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid) in the United States. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include obesity, lethargy, depression, and heart disease.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/thyroid/index.html

(6) Fluoride & Bone – “Excessive exposure to fluoride causes an arthrtiic bone disease called skeletal fluorosis. Skeletal fluorosis, especially in its early stages, is a difficult disease to diagnose, and can be readily confused with various forms of arthritis including osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. In the advanced stages, fluorosis can resemble a multitude of bone/joint diseases, including: osteosclerosis, renal osteodystrophy, DISH, spondylosis, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, and secondary hyperparathyroidism.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/bone/index.html

(7) Fluoride & Bone Fracture – “Studies on human populations consuming fluoride in drinking water have found an association between dental fluorosis and increased bone fracture in children; and between long-term consumption of fluoridated water and increased hip fracture in the elderly.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/bone/fracture/index.html

(8) Fluoride & Cancer – “Fluoride has been found to cause bone cancer (osteosarcoma) in government animal studies and rates of osteosarcoma among young males living in fluoridated areas have been found to be higher than young males living in unfluoridated areas. Osteosarcoma, while rare, is a very serious cancer. Children who develop osteosarcoma face a high probability of death (usually within 3 years) or amputation.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/cancer/index.html

(9) Fluoride & the Gastrointestinal Tract – “Among people hypersensitive to fluoride, gastrointestinal ailments have been produced following ingestion of 1 mg tablets of fluoride or consumption of 1 ppm fluoridated water. A single ingestion of as little as 3 mg of fluoride, in carefully controlled clinical trials, has been found to produce damage to the gastric mucosa in healthy adult volunteers.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/gi/

(10) Fluoride & Tooth Decay – “According to the current consensus view of the dental research community, fluoride’s primary – if not sole – benefit to teeth comes from TOPICAL application to the exterior surface of teeth, not from ingestion. Perhaps not surprisingly, therefore, tooth decay rates have declined at similar rates in all western countries in the latter half of the 20th century – irrespective of whether the country fluoridates its water or not. Today, tooth decay rates throughout continental western Europe are as low as the tooth decay rates in the United States – despite a profound disparity in water fluoridation prevalence in the two regions.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/teeth/caries/index.html

(11) Flouride & the Reproductive System – “High doses of fluoride have repeatedly been found to interfere with the reproductive system of animals. Commonly observed effects in fluoride-exposed animals include: oxidative stress, damaged sperm, reduced sperm count, and reduced fertility.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/repro/index.html

(12) Fluoride & the Pineal Gland – “Up until the 1990s, no research had ever been conducted to determine the impact of fluoride on the pineal gland – a small gland located between the two hemispheres of the brain that regulates the production of the hormone melatonin.
Melatonin (aka night hormone) is a hormone that helps regulate the onset of
puberty and helps protect the body from cell damage caused by free radicals. It is
now known – thanks to the meticulous research of Dr. Jennifer Luke from the
University of Surrey in England – that the pineal gland is the primary target of
fluoride accumulation within the body. The soft tissue of the adult pineal gland
contains more fluoride than any other soft tissue in the body – a level of fluoride
(~300 ppm) capable of inhibiting enzymes. The pineal gland also contains hard
tissue (hydroxyapatite crystals), and this hard tissue accumulates more fluoride
(up to 21,000 ppm) than any other hard tissue in the body (e.g. teeth and bone).”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/pineal/index.html

GreenMedInfo.com provides an excellent study of the serious consequences associated with fluoride deposits in the pineal gland:
Fluoride deposits in the pineal gland with age and is associated with enhanced gland calcification.

Green Med Info further states that “A brief review of the Medline literature indicates pineal calcification is associated with Sleep Disorders, Circadian Dysregulation, Neurodegenerative conditions such as Azheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, Schizophrenia, Tardive Dyskinesia in Bipolar Patients, Tourette Syndrome, Stroke, Low Back Pain” among other severely debilitating conditions/diseases.

(13) Respiratory Risks from Occupational Fluoride Exposure
“Government claims* (which remain as unsubstantiated claims – Per Author*)
of safety have been shown to be fatally wrong. Over the past 20 years, a vast
body of epidemiological and experimental research has proven that allowable
levels of fluoride in the workplace is hazardous to lung function, increasing the
risk of several respiratory disorders including asthma, bronchitis, and
emphysema. For many workers, the fluoride-induced damage to lung function
persists long after they cease working. While workers in industry are often
exposed to multiple air contaminants, large-scale epidemiological studies have
repeatedly found that fluoride dusts and gases (at levels as low as 0.05 mg/mg3)
are the key irritant responsible for the high rate of respiratory illness. The risk to
respiratory function from fluoride exposure is independent of the risk from
smoking, but the combination of fluoride exposure and smoking presents a risk
greater than either factor by itself.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/respiratory/

(14) Fluoride Exposure during Infancy – “Not only is fluoride ingestion during
infancy unnecessary, it can also be harmful – as suggested by a mounting body of
evidence linking fluoride exposure during the first year of life with the
development of dental fluorosis. Because of the risk for dental fluorosis, and the
lack of demonstrable benefit from ingesting fluoride before teeth erupt, the
American Dental Association – and a growing number of dental researchers -
recommend that children under 12 months of age should not consume
fluoridated water while babies under 6 months of age should not receive any
fluoride drops or pills.”

http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/infant/index.html#20th

What other unintended consequences have emerged from water fluoridation?

There are other unintended consequences with far-reaching ramifications that result directly from the fluoridation of municipal water supplies. For instance, did you know that in the process of fluoridating water two toxic byproducts occur in considerably higher concentrations, both of which are considered by all appropriate regulatory agencies to be dangerous to human health at any level above those that are truly naturally occurring? We’re talking about lead and arsenic here. The following paper was originally presented to the State Lead Commission Hearing in Hannibal, MO in 1994.

http://www.sonic.net/~kryptox/environ/lead/lead.htm

Water fluoridation has been shown to significantly increase lead and arsenic exposure. “Fluoride compounds put into water are often contaminated with lead, arsenic and radio- nuclides since the fluoride compounds are toxic waste byproducts which largely come from pollution scrubbers of fertilizer plants. A study published in 2000 showed that the dumping of toxic silicofluoride compounds into water (“fluoridation”) causes an increase in blood lead levels in children.” (Per FAN)

The following statements come from the FAN website and ought to be seriously considered by every mother or expecting mother who resides within a fluoridating water district.

“Fluoride chemicals added to public water supplies, boosts lead absorption in lab animals’ bones, teeth and blood, report Sawan, et al. (Toxicology 2/2010). Earlier studies already show children’s blood-lead-levels are higher in fluoridated communities, reports Sawan’s research team.

“…exposure to increased amounts of lead and fluoride occurs at about the same age (1-3 years)… Therefore, this is a critical time when systemic exposure to fluoride should be minimized since fluoride may increase lead accumulation,” the researchers caution.

Low-level lead exposure is associated with lower IQ, ADHD and many health and behavior ailments.”

NSF International conveys critical data regarding water fluoridation standards

NSF International is a not-for-profit organization that certifies products and writes standards for water, food and consumer goods to minimize adverse health effects and protect the environment. Included among the many American national public health standards NSF helped develop are the health effects standards that set limits for any materials or chemicals coming into contact with drinking water: NSF/ANSI Standard 60: Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals — Health Effects and NSF/ANSI Standard 61: Drinking Water System Components — Health Effects.

February 2008 NSF reported that 2% of the 245 fluoridation chemicals sampled from 2000 to 2006 had detectable levels of Lead. (There are approximately 155,000 US public water supplies.) Lead is an allowable trace contaminant in fluoridation chemicals along with antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper, mercury, selenium, and thallium.”

Dangerous Combinations, Interactions & Synergies:

NSF has produced the “NSF Fact Sheet on Fluoridation Chemicals” that reveals much of what has gone wrong in this water treatment, filtration and purification industry. The operative word here is “wrong”. When toxicologists study chemicals and their numerous permutations in isolation, they ignore the vast number of potential combinations, interactions and resulting synergies, which can substantially ramp up their toxic side effects. There is in fact a great void in the scientific literature concerning these matters even in the analysis of tap water.

http://www.nsf.org/business/water_distribution/pdf/NSF_Fact_Sheet.pdf

In the few instances where research has been undertaken to identify these reactions, it is clear that highly toxic byproducts are produced that can do great harm to the human body, especially the developing fetus, the infant and young child. Drinking tainted water like Tallahassee tap water on a regular basis should be done only with the full knowledge of what is also being ingested with the water.

It our contention that full disclosure has not taken place in earnest, and is unlikely to take place in most of the water districts throughout the country. If such revelation was commonplace in the Water Quality Annual Reports, there would certainly be a strong recommendation within each for the purchase of a home-based, point of use filtration system. If for nothing else, at least as a dislaimer to hold harmless the legally responsible water district.

Are Water Districts illegally practicing medicine without a license?

It is extremely important to bear in mind that there is only one reason which has been proffered as justification for medicating an entire population within a water district. We’ve all heard the completely unjustified and totally ridiculous explanation that water fluoridation somehow prevents childhood cavities. What is really surprising is not the extraordinary and over the top sales pitch that has encouraged the routine introduction of a known toxin into the nation’s water supply; rather it is the fact that so many academics, scientists and researchers bought into a scheme to poison a national population!

Here’s what a very prescient author stated in their recent essay that appeared at the Natural News website:

“Municipalities all across America are currently dripping fluoride chemicals
into their public water supply, dosing over a hundred million Americans with a chemical that they claim “prevents cavities.”

What’s interesting here is that this biological effect of “preventing cavities” is a medical claim, according to the FDA. And as such, making this claim instantly and automatically transforms fluoride into a “drug” under currently FDA regulations.

This means that cities and towns all across America are now practicing medicine without a license by dripping liquid medication into the public water supply without the consent of those who are swallowing the medication.” (Per Why the fluoridation of public water supplies is illegal)

Yes, it is quite shocking that a municipality has arrogated unto itself the illegal power to medicate an entire population. The toxic side effects and health consequences clearly amount to the gradual, difficult to detect, poisoning of a whole community. The citizens in Tallahassee will no longer idly stand by in the face of such an insidiously undertaken chemical assault.

The link below furnishes each reader, from whom common sense has not fled, with 50 very good reasons why our governments should not be fluoridating the water. Only because aware and informed people everywhere have not stepped forward to stop this dangerous and unsafe practice, does it continue. The only thing separating our city, as well as communities everywhere, from fluoride-free, non-toxic and safe drinking water is accurate and truthful information.

50 Reasons to Oppose Fluoridation

All are invited to attend the fire ceremony either in person or by creating your own fire ceremony at sunrise wherever you are. If you’d like to attend in person, please email liveevent@eso.tv for details. Of course there is no charge for participating in the ceremony.

One of the main draws to this region of Europe to perform these ceremonies and presentations is that it is considered by many to be the heart chakra of the Earth.Wandering Wolf’s purpose in these events is to honor the Heart of the Earth, and the Heart of the Heavens. Dobogókő, which means “pulsating stone,” seems an ideal energetic location for such a ceremony. To quote from this article:

http://spreadtheknowledge.com/Documents/Pulsating%20stone%20in%20Hungary.pdf

“Few years before, when the Dalai Lama visited Hungary he declared “The approach and behavior of Tibet -similarly to other saint knowledge- sees and experiences the eternity as unity. According to this, the so called power and energy centers are being counted not only in a Human body but on Earth as well. According to tradition, the Earth hearth chakra is in Hungary, more exactly in the area called Pilis.” Dobogókő (Pulsating stone), which can be found in the area called Pilis in Hungary as other names contain and guard archaic knowledge, and legendary steamed up versions still exist among the people live in the Carpathian area.”

Please join us in awakening the global heart August 13th, 14th and 15th.

All my best,

The Gulf of Mexico is one of the major bodies of water of the world,

and has some of the most pristine and beautiful beaches on planet Earth.

Where white powdery sand, sea oats, palm trees and sand dunes provide an exquisite backdrop.

The blue green waters are truly magnificent often resembling an Ocean of Consciousness.

Healing the waters is something we can all commit to in our own way.

How often have we enjoyed a sunrise or sunset reflecting on Her surface?

How often have we been refreshed by a dip in the Gulf?
How often have we been nourished by Her waters in so many ways?

How many times have we been captivated by Her colorful and myriad life forms?

How often have we been entertained by Her graceful and acrobatic marine life?

We can befriend Her as She has befriended us.

“We seals don’t live here, but we sure do care about our dolphin brothers and sisters.”

Perhaps it’s time for all of us to come to Her aid.
Let’s all join together in any way we can to assist in Her rejuvenation.

Whatever we can, let’s do.

Wherever we are, let’s offer our good wishes.

Whenever we’re inspired, let’s join this cause however it floats our boat!

Environmental and Health Impacts of the BP Gulf Oil Spill

Plus Necessary Resources for the Healthcare Provider

By Dr. Tom Termotto

THE COMING OF THE BLACK WAVE

Nothing in our shared cultural experience will prepare us better for the oncoming Black Wave throughout the Gulf of Mexico than the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska. And yet even this environmental catastrophe falls far short of what is coming around the corner in the Gulf. Alaska is not Florida, or Louisiana, or Texas. The Deep South summer here in Tallahassee, FL has been as hot and humid as any we’ve seen. This weather pattern is what will distinguish the BP Gulf Oil Spill from the Exxon Valdez just as the total volume of the spill and use of dispersants have.

The relentless cycle of low pressure systems throughout the Gulf of Mexico during the summer season is instrumental in keeping the many toxic vapors close to the surface of the Gulf, as well as the many coastal communities that rim her. We are not only talking about petroleum VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and the dispersant chemicals found in COREXIT and the hovering methane gas concentrations. We are also talking about the inevitable interactions and synergies among these chemical contaminants that produce much more powerful combinations, especially when they co-exist in such a conducive environment as the Gulf of Mexico hot and humid stewpot.

These realities in the water, and in the air, ought to be known by anyone participating in cleanup and recovery operations anywhere in the Gulf. To ignore them is to do so at great peril. The water has been polluted to a degree never seen on such a grand scale in US Territorial Waters. There simply is no precedent here. The Caspian Sea in Asia is a known petrochemical cesspool, which is so dead that all the bordering nations have given up on her and mercilessly plunder her depths for oil. How far behind is the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of this spill.

If you value your health, you ought not to eat seafood from the Gulf. If you value your health, you ought not to swim in the Gulf. If you value the health of your children, sensitive and delicate as they are during their formative stages, the affected Gulf Coast beaches are no longer a safe and healthy place on which to walk. Nor is wading in the water a safe practice until we know its true status.

The Black Wave of which we speak has many more aspects than the ones we have been hearing about in the mainstream media. There are dimensions that none have ever dared to whisper because it would mean the end of the Oil & Gas Industry for good. There are also phases of progression and retrogression of any oil spill, which will occur over the unique lifetime of this BP Gulf Oil Spill. As Mother Nature employs the tincture of time, Her ever so loyal elements will inexorably serve to heal all that requires healing on land, in the waters, and within the littoral regions to include the marshes, wetlands and estuaries. However, the process of healing will take time … perhaps a long time.

Question:
What do you get when you mix
oil & methane gas,
with oil dispersant (COREXIT),
with radioactive effluent,
with surface-burning oil slicks (petroleum+dispersant),
with lots of dead marine life of every sort and kind
in the Gulf of Mexico during a hot and humid summer?

Answer:
A toxic petrochemical stew which is neither safe to eat from, nor swim in. The affected beaches, wetlands, marshes and estuaries should also be viewed with great caution, or avoided altogether.

Many in the MSM have been trumpeting the miraculous recovery of the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of the successful capping of the gushing oil well at the Macondo Prospect. Of course there are also those from whom common sense has not fled. Thankfully, we still have among us reasonable people who are able to utilize the human faculty of reason. We pray that there will be many others who will understand the simple facts of life in the Gulf, which has taken on an awesome toxic burden – a toxic load of various chemicals, pollutants, contaminants, and poisons that ought to be dealt with very carefully and with great circumspection.

THE CONTEXT

Oil & Petroleum Derivatives:

Even though the WashPo recently published the account of 4.9 million barrels having been spilled into the Gulf of Mexico, our estimate is much closer to 9 million barrels of hydrocarbon effluent plus other components. The geyser gushed for just under 90 days, along with two other wells which gushed for a shorter period of time. Our calculation follows:

87 days X 100,000 barrels per day = 8.7 million barrels of hydrocarbon effluent (oil + methane + particulates [sand, stones, gravel, debris from deep down under])

Factoid – It only takes 1 barrel of oil to effectively pollute one million barrels of seawater.

“Crude oil has proven toxicity at 1 part per million, with constituents like benzene exhibiting genotoxicity in the parts per billion range. The dispersants have made the oil “disappear,” according to the mainstream media, and yet we have marine toxicology documents PROVING that the dispersants PREVENT the natural break…down of some constituents of the oil, e.g. the lesser soluble hydrocarbons, e.g. naphthalene.”

Petroleum and its many derivatives bio-accumulate within living organisms and will concentrate in adipose tissue in human beings. It contains many different chemical constituents that will break down, each of which possesses different levels of toxicity to marine and human life.

Toxicity
“Crude oil is a mixture of many different kinds of organic compounds, many of which are highly toxic and cancer causing (carcinogenic). Oil is “acutely lethal” to fish, that is, it kills fish quickly at a concentration of 4000 parts per million (ppm)[1] (0.4%). “It only takes one quart of motor oil to make 250,000 gallons of ocean water toxic to wildlife.”[2] This would be a concentration of only 1 ppm. Crude oil and petroleum distillates cause birth defects.[3]
Benzene is present in both crude oil and gasoline and is known to cause leukemia in humans.[4] The compound is also known to lower the white blood cell count in humans, which would leave people exposed to it more susceptible to infections.[4] “Studies have linked benzene exposure in the mere parts per billion (ppb) range to terminal leukemia, Hodgkins lymphoma, and other blood and immune system diseases within 5-15 years of exposure.”[5] ”
(Per Wikipedia)

“Benzene exposure at below 1 part per million (1 ppm) causes hematotoxicity in exposed workers.” (Per Gulf Oil Spill Truth)

Systems biology of human benzene exposure.

Methane Gas:

Extraordinarily high methane gas concentrations have been measured at many different locations throughout the Gulf and can migrate over Coastal communities with the right meteorological push. CH4, aka methane, can produce many symptoms depending on the concentration and duration of exposure.

What are the main health hazards associated with breathing in methane?

“Methane is not toxic below the lower explosive limit of 5% (50000 ppm). However, when methane is present at high concentrations, it acts as an asphyxiant. Asphyxiants displace oxygen in the air and can cause symptoms of oxygen deprivation (asphyxiation). The available oxygen should be a minimum of 18% or harmful effects will result. Methane displaces oxygen to 18% in air when present at 14% (140000 ppm). It is not expected to cause unconsciousness (narcosis) due to central nervous system depression until it reaches much higher concentrations (30% or 300000 ppm) – well above the lower explosive limit and asphyxiating concentrations.
Effects of oxygen deficiency are:
12-16% – breathing and pulse rate are increased, with slight muscular incoordination;
10-14% – emotional upsets, abnormal fatigue from exertion, disturbed respiration;
6-10% – nausea and vomiting, inability to move freely, collapse, possible lack of consciousness;
below 6% – convulsive movements, gasping, possible respiratory collapse and death.
Since exercise increases the body’s need for oxygen, symptoms will occur more quickly during exertion in an oxygen-deficient environment. Survivors of oxygen deprivation may show damage to some or all organs including the central nervous system and the brain. These effects may or may not be reversible with time, depending on the degree and duration of the low oxygen and the amount of tissue injury.”
(Per Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety)

Another significant environmental impact caused by methane is the rapid depletion of oxygen in the aquatic environment. This will have many adverse effects on all marine life, especially those aerobic microbes that assist in bio-degrading the petroleum. Their oil-eating effectiveness will surely be compromised, just as all other aerobic organisms will suffer due to hypoxia (insufficient oxygen).

COREXIT Dispersant:

The total volume of COREXIT dispersant released in and on the Gulf is still being hotly debated. However, in light of the intractable pattern of both non-disclosure and misinformation practiced by BP, as well as the interference run by the Coast Guard over the course of this saga, what can we believe?

Our guarded estimate of the total volume of dispersant used by BP both subsea and on the surface is fast approaching two (2) million gallons of Corexit.

The exact calculation, based upon formal reports filed as of August 2, is as follows:

Surface dispersant used: 1, 072,514 gallons
Subsea dispersant used: 771,272 gallons
Total dispersant used: 1,843,786 gallons
The following link points to an article, which contains the very telling statement:

“But some scientists say the chemical mixture, which at one point was being released at a rate of about 70,000 gallons a day, causes more harm than good, and may have contributed to huge plumes of hydrocarbons below the ocean’s surface. The fact that Corexit now seems to have been so widely used also poses the question of who, exactly, is calling the shots in the Gulf.”

Use of ‘toxic stew’ to get rid of oil brings more trouble for BP

The following article lays bare some of the greatest concerns by those in the field of toxicology. Dr. Shaw offers some invaluable toxicological perspective.

Toxicologist: Oil/Corexit mix caused heart trouble, organ damage, rectal bleeding

Dr. Shaw offered a stark analysis of Corexit 9500 in her piece for The New York Times.
“Though all dispersants are potentially dangerous when applied in such volumes, Corexit [9500] is particularly toxic,” she wrote. “It contains petroleum solvents and a chemical that, when ingested, ruptures red blood cells and causes internal bleeding. It is also bioaccumulative, meaning its concentration intensifies as it moves up the food chain.”

Speaking to CNN on Friday, her message was a bit more dire.
“It ruptures red blood cells, causes internal bleeding and liver and kidney damage,” Dr. Shaw said. “This stuff is so toxic — combined, it’s not the oil alone, it’s not the dispersant — the dispersed oil that still contains this stuff, it’s very, very toxic and it goes right through skin.”

Factoid: COREXIT’s interaction with petroleum is particularly troubling in that dispersed oil causes a much higher rate of mortality in fish than either the oil or dispersant alone. As compared with only oil, Corexit-laden oil is four times more lethal; dispersed oil is ten times more deadly than the dispersant alone. (See detailed analysis below)

Radioactive Hydrocarbon Effluent:

Then there is the radioactive component of the hydrocarbon effluent that comes from mantle-generated abiotic oil (See link below) and which irrefutably possesses higher levels of radium isotopes. The deeper the petroleum reserves, the more likely the reservoirs of oil and methane in those geological formations will contain uranium, thorium or radium. Given the elevated levels of radioactivity at the source, the level of radioactivity associated with the hydrocarbon effluent coming out of the well will inevitably be impacted.

“OPERATE TO FAILURE”: How BP’s MO & The US Addiction To Oil Caused The Catastrophe Of The Millennium

It is very important to note that the American Petroleum Institute acknowledges the existence of radium in the development of oil and gas prospects. Their website prescribes very specific standard operating procedures when certain levels of radioactivity are measured on site or in the equipment. The seriousness of this matter can pertain to any oil and gas drilling and development operations anywhere in the world.

Radium isotopes have inherent health risks that ought to be identified and properly disseminated. The concerned resident of the Gulf Coast may want to initiate him/herself in the area of health impacts due to long-term exposure to low grade radioactivity. Of course, the seafood, the waters and the beaches all provide different vehicles for such contamination to take place, each with varying consequences.

Oil Burned On The Surface Of The Gulf:

It has been estimated that 11.1 million gallons of oil have been burned on the surface of the Gulf thus far. The resulting aerosolizing of the hydrocarbon chemical constituents, along with the dispersant chemical constituents will produce vectors of dissemination that must be further studied. Such a high concentration of harmful airborne chemicals and contaminants, especially if there is a radioactive component, could pose a great health risk to all life residing downwind from the surface oil-burning activity.

We could even see similarities to Gulf War Syndrome experienced by US Service Members who were downwind from the burning oil fields in Kuwait.

Parallels to Gulf War Syndrome:

After the First Gulf War in Iraq, many service members returned home only to be plagued by what came to be known as Gulf War Syndrome. As a matter of fact, there were so many different variants of this syndrome, depending on the service members time and place of duty (and therefore exposures), that many healthcare practitioners recognized a Gulf War Syndrome I, II, III and so on. Each one had it own unique signatures that produced different symptoms and illnesses.

The most serious result of Gulf War Syndrome variants were the numerous instances where the veterans subsequently had children who were deformed or who had defects that were directly the result of genetic mutation. Could a toxic cocktail of pre-war vaccinations and exposure to oil well fires produce such an effect so quickly? Not likely, unless there was much more to (and in) the vaccine regimen that we do not know. However there is one thing we have learned about the development of oil and gas reserves which we did not know until recently.

There is a radioactive component found within geological formation from where oil and gas are pulled. This fact has been scientifically documented by the American Petroleum Institute, as well as by many petroleum engineers, geologists and scientists from around the world for many years. Curiously it is rarely ever talked about and even denied in some circles, as it would have probably caused the demise of the entire industry.

It now appears that the US service members who suffered the most, and especially those who bore children with unusual and inexplicable defects were directly exposed to radioactive hydrocarbons. When Saddam Hussein ordered the destruction of the oil and gas wells by setting them on fire, Iraq was transformed into a sort of Oil & Gas Armageddon. Whoever was present was exposed to these toxic and potentially radioactive fumes. And since they were breathed in, it translated to a much quicker physical manifestation in the human body. Ultimately the black, acrid smoke would find numerous vectors of dissemination, which would allow the toxic constituents to settle on the ground, on the vegetation and food, and in the water bodies and courses.

The consequent aerosol toxic brew is certainly one that is not too unlike what is occurring this very moment throughout the Gulf of Mexico. As BP et al. has taken to burning the many oil slicks and oil plumes that are being aggregated, we see a very similar set of circumstances, which could very well contribute to a future BP Gulf Oil Spill Syndrome.

Dead & Contaminated Marine Life Working Its Way Up The Gulf’s Food Chain:

Lastly, we have a Gulf of Mexico that is replete with dead organisms both microscopic (phytoplankton) and leviathan (whales). This does include plant and animal life of great diversity. Vast swaths of the food chain have been toxified and poisoned by the current petrochemical brew, which by all appearances may appear to be normal. However….

This is where it takes a seasoned observer and astute investigator applying all the necessary scientific process and procedure to accurately diagnose the true condition of this traumatized body of water. All chemicals don’t merely break down instantaneously, as we often hear from the Oil & Gas Industry wordsmiths. As a matter of fact, many are ultimately reduced to such a state that they will have no where to go but to bio-accumulate within the tissues of living organisms. These various chemicals are currently being evaluated for their degree of toxicity and reactivity in vivo (within living organisms).

There is no question that, given the total volume of oil and dispersant currently in the Gulf, there will inevitably be substantial and dire consequences to the entire food chain. Particularly as the larvae at the bottom of this chain pick up the various chemicals and contaminants, and are subsequently eaten by larger and then larger marine animals, we will see threats emerge to that segment of the human population which continues to eat the seafood from the Gulf. GREAT time to become a vegetarian!

Deep South Weather Pattern:

We are in the throes of an extremely hot and humid weather pattern here in the Deep South. The Low Pressure Systems forming over the Gulf of Mexico have been relentless since the BP Gulf Oil Spill first began. These are characterized by low cloud cover, little air movement, high humidity and very hot conditions which make it ideal for aerosolized chemicals and toxins to hang close to the surface of the Gulf. This predominant weather pattern has created a very hospitable environment for an exacerbation of the many symptoms associated with the aforementioned chemical exposures.

The blood brain barrier is a “chemical labyrinth that prevents toxins and viruses in the bloodstream from reaching the brain”. However, this layer is only four cells thick around the olfactory nerve, where it is more tenuous and not an integral barrier. This very delicate and attenuated structure in the nasal system will therefore provide a point of entry into the brain for harmful toxins which are airborne. For those out on the Gulf who are exposed to VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) in the air, they ought to have respirators around any oil cleanup operations. Not to wear one utilize puts their health in peril, which can manifest in the following ways:

Health Effects
“Eye, nose, and throat irritation; headaches, loss of coordination, nausea; damage to liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Some organics can cause cancer in animals; some are suspected or known to cause cancer in humans. Key signs or symptoms associated with exposure to VOCs include conjunctival irritation, nose and throat discomfort, headache, allergic skin reaction, dyspnea, declines in serum cholinesterase levels, nausea, emesis, epistaxis, fatigue, dizziness.
The ability of organic chemicals to cause health effects varies greatly from those that are highly toxic, to those with no known health effect. As with other pollutants, the extent and nature of the health effect will depend on many factors including level of exposure and length of time exposed. Eye and respiratory tract irritation, headaches, dizziness, visual disorders, and memory impairment are among the immediate symptoms that some people have experienced soon after exposure to some organics.”
(Per US Environmental Protection Agency)

Parallels to 911 Toxic Dust Syndrome:

The many first responders who showed up at the 911 rubble pile in NYC suffer from a unique malady known as 911 Toxic Dust Syndrome. And although it has yet to be officially recognized by the US Federal Government, it has a specific set of baseline symptoms which are exhibited by many, even those who were present when the Twin Towers came down. There are many who lived and worked in the same general vicinity who also experience symptoms to this day.

The health and medical records of many first responders who have passed away since 911 will also reveal that they exhibited none of these unique symptoms prior to 911. Therefore, many of these deaths were caused directly by a disease process that was triggered by their exposure to the aerosolized toxic dust that came to permeate a large swath of lower Manhattan. These same records will also reveal a similar pattern of health issues and medical diagnoses which is very similar to those who are still living with the
pain and suffering associated with 911 TOXIC DUST SYNDROME.

One of the real tragedies of the 911 saga is that the EPA assured the people of NYC, and especially the cleanup workers, that everything was okay with air quality when it was obvious to everyone else in the world that it was not okay. If it sounds familiar then it is probably because you either read or heard the following story.

Here’s one of the most recent examples of deliberate disinformation, misinformation and false information disseminated by the corporate/government/media juggernaut regarding the BP Gulf Oil Spill. The new and improved BP PR Campaign that is addressing the environmental health aspects of this oil spill has gone into full gear in order to assure everyone that everything is okay. BP’s COO, Doug Suttles is quoted as follows:

“BP’s chief operating officer sought to give the southern US fishing industry a much-need boost Sunday, saying he’d “absolutely” eat Gulf of Mexico seafood after the massive oil spill devastated the region.”

BP executive ‘absolutely’ would eat Gulf seafood

We, here at the Gulf Oil Spill Remediation Conference in Tallahassee, FL, would very much like to audit the actual seafood sources from which Mr. Suttles takes his daily lunch and evening supper over the next twelve months. We would also ask that he partakes of at least one meal a day which includes seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, specifically from within a one hundred mile radius of the Macondo Prospect. At the end of the first year we will have our physicians standing by to conduct either an autopsy or the appropriate pathology procedures that would be required at that point of evolution of the most likely diseases to be caused by oil and COREXIT poisoning.

Interactions, Synergies, & Dangerous Combinations:

The area of research that studies the effects of different combinations of these chemical constituents is at an alarmingly rudimentary stage of development. Therefore, we really do not know the long-term effects of the various chemicals that, through synergistic interactions, can ramp up their level of toxicity in living organisms. Because we are particularly concerned about the deleterious effects to human life, it may be very difficult to ever assess these health risks. Who among us would avail our person to such exposures for the sake of testing?

We can make the following three (3) statements about oil, dispersant (Corexit 9500) and dispersed oil per the EPA website link that follows:

(1) 10.72 parts per million (ppm) of oil alone will kill 50% of the fish test species in a normal aquatic environment within 96 hours.
(2) 25.20 parts per million of dispersant (Corexit 9500) alone will kill 50% of the fish test species in a normal aquatic environment within 96 hours.
(3) 2.61 parts per million of dispersed oil (Corexit-laden) alone will kill 50% of the fish test species in a normal aquatic environment within 96 hours.

National Contingency Plan Product Schedule Toxicity and Effectiveness Summaries

“Crude oil has proven toxicity at 1 part per million, with constituents like benzene exhibiting genotoxicity in the parts per billion range. The dispersants have made the oil “disappear,” according to the mainstream media, and yet we have marine toxicology documents PROVING that the dispersants PREVENT the natural break…down of some constituents of the oil, e.g. the lesser soluble hydrocarbons, e.g. naphthalene.” (Per Gulf Oil Spill Truth)

Biodegradation of Dispersed Oil Using COREXIT 9500

As you can see from the above statements, there is a very definite synergistic effect that directly results from the interaction between the oil and dispersant. Together they create a much more toxic environment, and should be considered very seriously when seafood is known to be coming from those locations.
Are there other more dangerous combinations to be aware of? We don’t know and toxicologists usually study isolated chemical compounds rather than researching the results of their various combinations.
Moral of the Story: What we do not know may hurt us. And in some cases it may take years to show up as a symptom or a disease. Perhaps it is better to err on the side of caution where it concerns our precious health.

This state of affairs also illustrates how unintended consequences, collateral damage and toxic side effects all collide in a rather finite system called the Gulf of Mexico with far-reaching ramifications. Contrary to what the BP spinmeisters convey to the media and government, the Gulf IS full of oil. Because some of it has been dispersed into tiny droplets, doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Because much of the spilled oil exists in many different locations, as well as in different conditions, and is out of sight, out of mind, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Oil doesn’t just disappear, as some would have us believe!
(1) The pools on the undersea floor are under extremely high pressure and very low temperature, and therefore require a uniquely creative solution.
(2) The plumes at, above and below the midline exhibit there own behavior and challenges.
(3) The surface plumes, oil slicks and screens are more easily addressed except when they migrate into the wetlands, marshes and littoral regions. These predicaments pose great challenges no matter what the solutions, especially when they coat the beaches, as the sun and heat and gravity encourage the oil to sink into the sand as it did in Prince William Sound, Alaska after the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.

Here’s what Admiral Thad Allen of the Coast Guard BP Oil Spill Response Team said about the difficulty of dealing with oil accumulations scattered throughout the Gulf:

“What we have is an aggregation of hundreds of thousands of patches of oil and the challenge is to find out where they are at right now because they are widely dispersed,” said U.S. spill response chief Thad Allen.
Pressed further on the patches, Allen relented: “Maybe patches is a misnomer on my part. What we’re seeing are mats, patties, small concentrations, very hard to detect, but they’re out there.”
(Per canada.com)

Obvious Health and Medical Impacts:

The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska showed us the most obvious health impacts that will inevitably occur wherever there are many communities affected directly by the spilt oil, methane releases, wanton use of dispersants, contaminated seafood, denial by government and oil company alike, etc. The greatest lesson learned from that catastrophic oil spill was the unanticipated and long lingering psychological impacts which only intensified with time right up to this very day. So profound and devastating were these psychological effects, that the very social, economic and political fabric of a vast area of Alaska was forever altered.

People will no doubt show up, as they always do, to help the process of getting things back to normal. However, normal will never return in our lifetimes, and we should therefore seek to protect ourselves from all that can do harm, and will do harm in several different ways. Certainly protection of our families and friends, home and property, businesses and other possessions ought to be a high priority for all concerned. However, it is the stability of our mental state, emotional attitude, and general psychological posture which deserves the most attention. Maintaining a positive and refreshed outlook each and every day is of paramount importance.

At the end of the day the mental and emotional health repercussions of the BP Gulf oil spill disaster will be the most challenging as it was in Alaska. From all with whom we have spoken, we have heard the same litany of mental and emotional problems which seem to surface wherever the Black Wave appears. As the social fabric slowly tears, so do the many support systems upon which we all rely weaken, especially during these already quite tumultuous and challenging times.

Most of these mental and emotional health repercussions will appear as psychological maladies that typically emerge from many different forms of loss, and especially the unresolved grief associated with such unexpected and jolting loss. Loss of job, loss of business, and loss of financial security are some examples. So are loss of health, loss of relationships, and loss of access to the beach. We also see loss of home, loss of a way of life and loss of traditional foods. Fisherman can no longer go out in their boats; beachgoers forgo their morning shelling routine; joggers take to the pavement instead of the sand.

There are numerous symptoms, ailments and illnesses that are the direct result of exposure to an oil spill which can be gleaned from various sources. Some of these resources have been provided by organizations that have been directly involved with oil spill mitigation and remediation. In some cases they have been able to closely follow the development of disease in any given population, which was exposed to many of the same chemical contaminants that are found at different oil spill sites throughout the world.

We have before us a defining moment in American history. An entire region of the country has been beset with a manmade environmental catastrophe, the effects of which will be felt for generations. How do we respond to the Black Wave? How de we deal with a foreign, multi-national corporation that is as addicted to drilling for oil as it is to deception?! How do we respond to the Federal Government that demonstrates a similar pattern of disinformation?!

We ask these questions in the face of the many health and medical impacts that are most assuredly coming down the pike. More than ever we need our focus and energy directed at the real health challenges and subsequent medical issues which will emerge if we are not aware and well informed. Where there is true and accurate information, there can be informed and wise decisions about how we can continue to live our lives in a healthy manner along the Gulf Coast of Mexico.

MOTHER EARTH Wisdom as an Extension of the GAIA Principle

Dr. James Lovelock, an independent scientist and environmentalist from the UK, first advanced the Gaia Hypothesis back in the 1960’s to the acclaim of a few and the derision of many. To a great extent, this exquisite and beautiful notion of our planet Earth being a much more “intelligent and self-regulating organism” was ignored, and at considerable peril to humankind. So profound and fundamental an understanding is the GAIA Principle to all that happens here, we can no longer pretend She doesn’t exist. Here’s why:

THE REVENGE OF GAIA:

“In James Lovelock’s 2006 book, The Revenge of Gaia, he argues that the lack of respect humans have had for Gaia, through the damage done to rainforests and the reduction in planetary biodiversity, is testing Gaia’s capacity to minimize the effects of the addition of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This eliminates the planet’s negative feedbacks and increases the likelihood of homeostatic positive feedback potential associated with runaway global warming. Similarly the warming of the oceans is extending the oceanic thermocline layer of tropical oceans into the Arctic and Antarctic waters, preventing the rise of oceanic nutrients into the surface waters and eliminating the algal blooms of phytoplankton on which oceanic food chains depend. As phytoplankton and forests are the main ways in which Gaia draws down greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide, taking it out of the atmosphere, the elimination of this environmental buffering will see, according to Lovelock, most of the earth becoming uninhabitable for humans and other life-forms by the middle of this century, with a massive extension of tropical deserts.” (per Wikipedia)

This is certainly not meant to be an exercise in discussing the merits of the global warming or global cooling or climate change debate. It is only presented as a wake up call as to why the Gulf of Mexico is currently filling up with oil. You see, there is a liberal extension or corollary to the GAIA thesis, which we will call MOTHER EARTH Wisdom, that goes like this:

Not only is Mother Earth an extremely efficient ecosystem, She is also a living, breathing, conscious organism not too unlike us human beings. Being highly intelligent, She is forever careful to keep Herself and Her children out of harm’s way. In fact, She has evolved many ingenious ways of protecting and maintaining the biosphere in order that life may continue to thrive, even in the face of extraordinary, manmade environmental degradation. Surely, the Kali Yuga (Iron Age) has challenged Her to stretch and expand in ways that demonstrate awesome transformative powers. As we continue to move through the last phase of the Galactic Creation Cycle, en route to the Universal Creation Cycle preordained by Mayan Calendrics, GAIA will continue to wow us in many captivating and impressive ways. Quite skillful and didactic drama is, after all, one of Her greatest specialties.

According to Mother Earth Wisdom, She actually manifests an analog for each and every part of the human body. She has her own kind of organs and tissues and cells, even whole organ systems. She possesses a profoundly well developed nervous system and skeletal system, among others. Like the human body, She utilizes many different types of fluids to carry out the myriad functions that keep Her detoxed and healthy. We might be interested to know that she “sweats” via rivers and lakes and streams, as beads of perspiration pool on Her body and are efficiently carried off.

GAIA’s hair, of course, is constantly being clear-cut by you know who. And Her breath we know full well, especially here on the Gulf Coast. She has a pulse known as the Schumann Resonance that is curiously on the way from 7.8 to 14.3. And a bio-magnetic field that has been weakening at an alarming rate for the past 150 years. Gaia even has meridians (as per Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture) that run throughout Her entire being identified as ley lines. Her integumentary system or skin, which we walk, run and drive on, is known as the Earth’s crust. As a supremely kind and compassionate being, She is very loving and capable of the greatest acts of self sacrifice. So sensitive are Her feelings that she can even feel the footsteps of an ant.

Of course, where there is a circulatory system there is also blood. And in the case of GAIA we have been steadily draining Her blood, which we all know as OIL. She has quite generously made multi-decade donations of this precious resource, Her lifeblood, but She can no longer sustain the accelerating rate of donations. Her sacred Heart, or Earth’s core, has been aching for some time now. She only asks that humanity will become silent long enough to listen to Her heartbeat, as this vital sign will tell us much about her health, and therefore much about our current state of wellness as a race.

As the planet approaches a population of 7 billion, the demand for hydrocarbon fuels simply can no longer be met. For many extremely significant and obvious reasons, including the viability of the human race, the sustainability of clean environments and balanced ecosystems, as well as the longevity of the oil & gas supply in the face of “Peak Oil”, this obsolete energy paradigm must be replaced. And GAIA has been alerting us for many years, if not decades, by way of oil spills, pipeline ruptures, oil tanker sinkings (there have been many unreported on the high seas), refinery explosions, and now an undersea oil volcano.

The “Global Blood Bank” (read oil companies), in their zeal to draw Her blood anywhere and everywhere to satisfy an ever-growing demand, has made some very grave errors. Nothing is more startling than when there is blood in the water. It can really be quite shocking. Well, guess what? We have blood in the water! A 22,500 to 30,000+ foot needle (the phlebotomist won’t tell us how long) was inserted into GAIA’s vein and caused a rupture. Maybe even severed an artery! When an undersea oil volcano has become a 4 million gallon plus per day gusher (BP’s concession), and it sits on top of an oil field estimated at hundreds of millions of barrels of blood, or rather oil, the true emergency facing the hemisphere, as well as the planet, begins to come into focus.

The EMT’s employed by BP are really trying everything. However, they (BP and the entire Oil & Gas Industry) have been warned time and time again to no avail. She’s bleeding because it is the only way that the community of nations will finally get it. When the loop current in the Gulf begins to pick up the oil, it will bring it down the west coast of Florida and around the peninsula over to the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf Stream will then carry it up the Eastern Seaboard, whereupon it will eventually find its way into the Seven Seas. We will then have a global drama of epic proportions to observe and ponder.

What will we do this time? Allow BP to eventually stanch the hemorrhaging, and then go back to business as usual? We don’t think so. The prophets of doom will finally be heard this time. Yes, their day has finally come and somebody, somewhere, better be listening. And listening very, VERY carefully.

GAIA’s day of healing and rejuvenation has arrived at long last!
